We are a small but highly qualified team, combining a wide range of knowledge, experience and skills. Passionate about what we do, we have built a strong reputation based on our leading expertise, values and excellence of delivery. We look forward to working with you.

Ele Milwright, CEO of Warrior Equine

Ele Milwright Founder & CEO

As a military wife, and with friends serving in various operations and conflicts, Ele is well aware of the tolls of military service. She is committed to supporting those who have given so much in service to their country and community. Keen to erode the stigmas surrounding mental health, Ele is is particularly interested in exploring ways to empower individuals with the tools to support their own recovery

A career in advertising, global marketing and event management have been invaluable skills in helping to develop and deliver our programme, alongside several years as an Instructor for Riding for the Disabled and her on-going involvement with Intelligent Horsemanship.

Toby Milwright, Director and Finance for Warrior Equine CIC

Toby Milwright Director & Finance

Toby enjoyed a 26 year career in the Royal Air Force as an engineering officer, including as Chief of Staff in the deployed Air Component, supporting both Op TELIC and Op HERRICK. He has continued his work in Defence in senior project consultancy roles in UK MOD capability programmes enabling all three Services.

He is delighted to support the rest of the Warrior Equine Team as Director of the CIC and keeping the finances on an even keel. He aims to bring his broad experience of Defence and other public sector organisations to bear on enabling the hugely beneficial outcomes delivered by the courses and events.

Col Matt Wilkinson, Director of Warrior Equine

Col Matt Wilkinson Director

Matt first became aware of our work when he was Chairman of the Royal Armoured Corps Saddle Club in Bovington.  He hosted a Veterans course and saw at first hand the incredible results of our method of working with horses to help overcome the effects of severe psychological trauma.  The group included serving and former servicemen and women, many of whom felt that they had tried every other avenue of support and were on the point of giving up.  The results were profound – from a young Reservist Corporal to an Officer who had been retired for twenty years; irrespective of the cause of the trauma.

If Matt had a message for those who might be considering a Warrior Equine course, it would be: “Come and try it!  I promise this will be like nothing you have ever done before and the results are extraordinary.  And even better if you don’t know one end of a horse from the other!”.

General Sir Reddy Watt, Consultant to Warrior Equine

General Sir Reddy Watt KCB KCVO CBE DL  Consultant

Reddy Watt was commissioned into the Welsh Guards in 1972. His military appointments included GOC 1st (UK) Armoured Division, GOC London District, Commander Field Army, GOC Northern Ireland and his last appointment was Commander-in Chief Land Command.  Since retiring from the Army in 2008 he has been President of Combat Stress and Governor of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

It was his initiative to run courses for veterans and serving personnel at Bovington, and his experience in setting up these pilot courses is of considerable benefit to Warrior Equine.

Jim Goddard, Director and Chief Instructor for Warrior Equine

Jim Goddard Director & Chief Instructor

Jim’s original plan for a career in the military was cut short when he was injured as a young Officer Cadet in the Royal Marines. Since then he has spent time as a Stunt rider, a deep sea diver, a remedial horse trainer, riding instructor, Western horse rider, tour manager, professional offshore yacht master and sailing instructor!

A naturally gifted horseman, Jim also has an extraordinary talent for working with people, and to connect and engage with those with troubled minds.

Teaching Staff

Alongside Jim Goddard (Chief Instructor) and Ele Milwright (Team Leader), we have a team of talented and experienced teaching staff on our roster.

Ann-Marie Marek IHRT – Instructor

Liz Abram – Well Being

Supporters, Ambassadors & Helpers

We have been lucky to have received help from so many people, who have generously given their time and support to make our courses possible. Amongst those many, honourable mentions must go to Simon Ledger, Kelly Marks, Kate McGowan, Roch Rochester, Jock Easton and John Lewis. A full list would quite possibly need it’s own website! But suffice to say, you know who you are, and our gratitude to you.

A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.
